End of January
So January has been an interesting month. While my new years goals were nearly forgotten just a couple days after the year started, recently I've determined to pursue them! I've managed to get more sleep, keep up with studying, work out, and I've started a blog (true I missed a few days there- but we all have slip ups, right? So here's to the next 11 months and to 2013! Let's hope it's a great year!

B-day!
So today is my Birthday- turning 19! Last year of the teens! So I went out with my great friends, and we ate pho and played laser tag and bowled! My friend (who is an amazing person) got me this awesome shirt with my catch phrase on it, and it's pretty much awesome!

Josey Greenwell
So today is Friday, and hopefully I can make that a day to talk about music! Today I want to talk about an artist in particular, Josey Greenwell. While his style (country) isn't exactly my type I somehow find his music nice (plus he's hot). However, I find his story both a saddening and an inspirational one. He won the Colgate Country Showdown in 2006, a competition which has also been won by other famous singers such as Brad Paisley, Garth Brooks, and Billy Ray Cyrus. He then signed with a recording label in Nashville, but they dropped him after they learned he was gay. He persevered despite them and created his own album, My Life on the Radio. Here is one of the songs from that album, as well as a single of his I find touching, and an excellent cover of The Band Perry's All Your Life. Enjoy!

Thoughts on Art
What is art? This
conversation recently came up between a couple of friends and me. In the end we agreed that everything can be
art, based on value given to it by others.
Therefore, art is subjective to each individual based on what they give
value to. I became curious, where does
the boundary between physical and mental end?
We agreed that a bucket of trash could be art if the viewer wanted it to
be. Since in theory, a trashcan has no
physical beauty, the art must be created by the mind. What then can the mind not consider beautiful
and make it become art? If I am
attracted to someone, and I hold value for that person, do they become
art? What if I value a characteristic,
does humor become an art, or what if I value a sunset, is it art? Just some thoughts as we end the week.

At the Beginning
So my question was: how do you start a blog? What do you put on your first post? Do you detail your life story and bore the
audience to death so that they never revisit, or do you jump right in with no
explanation of who you are or what this blog is? I decided to do neither, hopefully I will
tell you nothing about who I am except what you can read through my words, and
as for what this blog will be: well, it will be a representation of me. What does that mean? I have no idea- perhaps it will turn into an
amalgamation of ideas and thoughts, a hodgepodge of the life of Mitch. Hopefully there will be some sort of story, some
progression, some intellectual, physical, and emotional change and maturity,
and just maybe there’ll be laughter and tears. Maybe there’ll be hope and despair, life and
death, fear and love. Maybe, just maybe,
I’ll be able to chronicle a life: the good, the bad, and the ugly- all that
could possibly be captured of a life, of my life, here.
